    Captain James Parker and Mary Parker were killed by Indians in the Groton Massacre of July 27, 1694 that occurred in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Phinehas, James' brother, was taken captive by the Indians during the attack, but escaped a few years later. James and his other siblings hid out during the massacre, but were left orphans
