    ARCHIBALD McKAUGHAN was born in Pennsylvania. He went to the territory which is now Sullivan County, Tennessee and then to Pulaski County, Kentucky with his parents. We found his marriage license in Wayne County, Monticello, Kentucky to ELIZABETH WEST, 1814, then they left the area.

    ARCHIBALD McKAUGHAN, JR.: born 1735, County Antrim, Ireland. He came to America with his parents in 1747, at the age of 12 years. They settled in Pennsylvania, believed to be Cumberland County. He married JANE MERCER, daughter of Moses and LaGrelda Forrester Mercer from Scotland to Pennsylvania. Little is known about Moses and LaGrelda after they came to America.
