    Death:
Ann Arbor News--Milan--A local institution in Milan--Pearl Draper, better known as "Grandma Pearl" is gone. She died at the Saline Evangelical Home Wednesday. Mrs. Draper was 104. Even when she reached the 100th mark in age, she continued to bake her own bread and a few pumpkin pies. From 1927 to 1941, she and her husband ran Grandma's Pantry, a restaurant-hotel on Main Street. Mrs. Draper was born Sept. 3, 1875 in Monroe County. She and her husband, Francis, operated the first movie theatre in town and the city's only hotel. That hotel housed Henry Ford when he was in town to oversee the factory that formerly stood on the south side of the Saline River. As a centenarian, she continued to be an avid bridge player. More than 300 persons turned out for her 100th birthday party in 1975, which included a band and closed some of the streets. Private services were held at the People's Presbyterian Church this afternoon. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McMullin.
