Notes:

A French and Indian War veteran, 1756 in Capt Samuel Dakin's Sudbury company. Commissioned in 1771 as Lieut. of Capt. Samuel Knight's 3d Sudbury company, Col. Elisha Jones' 3d regiment of the Middlesex County militia. Chosen as Capt in 1774, of a copmany of 92 men in the "Lanham District" of Sudbury. He marched on the 10 Apr 1775 alarm with his company in Lieut.-Col. Ezekiel Howe's regiment, and took part in the pursuit of the British to Boston, serving four days.
