    She graduated from the Framingham High School in 1891; from Smith College, 1894, with the degree of A.B., and from Radcliffe College in 1899, with the degree of A.M. She taught in the Brookline public schools, 1895-6; in the Northampton High School, 1896-8; Miss Boostow's School, Kansas City, MO, 1900-2; University of Nebraska, 1902-7. She was made adjunct professor of mathematics in the University of Nebraska in 1907, but resigned and was married in 1908. She is active in clubs and does some newspaper work. In 1914-15 she was a member of the local board of directors and chairman of the lecture and press committee of Washington Center Dramatic League of America; vice-president and chairman of the vocational committee of Washington Branch, Association of Collegiate Allumnae; vice-president of Smith College Club of Washington; member of the executive board of College Women's club of Washington; member of Congressional Committee of National American Women's Suffrage Association and press chairman; member of the executive board and chairman of legislative committee of Washington Woman Sufferage Council; member of board of directors of Washington Branch, National College Equal Suffrage League; member of National Geographic Society; Washington Society of Fin Arts, and Art and Archeology League of Washington.

    He joined the Congregational Church at Sudbury, May 26, 1786, by profession of faith, was chosen deacon, Sept 14, 1807, continuing in that office until his death, a period of 35 years. He was an energetic, industrious and prominent citizen, highly respected by his townsmen. When he died 11 of his 13 children were living, and 50 of his 65 grandchildren, of whom but one was married. He was captain of the militia.
