Ransom and Anna Nash migrated from Maine (probably Columbia Falls) to M innesota in 1867. Ransom and Anna with a married daughter, Laura, and h er husband, Peter Butler, homesteaded land in Irving Township, Kandiyoh i County, MN, near the east side of Green Lake. Meldrick, not married, c ame with them. Ransom moved from Maine for health reasons (he had cont racted asthma during the Civil War).
He was a Master Millwright according the 1860 Federal Census.
