"Miss Puffer was a member of the Brockton Society of the Church of the New Jerusalem, and always interested in its welfare, although prevented by ill health from attending any of its services during the last fifteen years. Her mind was unusually acute and she took an active interest in religious matters and in genealogical studies. She was deeply interested in music and for years practiced both piano and organ, showing marked ability. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Loring W. Puffer, both attendants at the services of the Brockton Society, and the latter a member. Her two brothers, William L. and Clarence Puffer are attendants of the New Church. Interment was in Stoughton, MA. - P.S."

She was an WAC during WWII.This is the woman who I visited at her farm in New Hampshire. She had given a genealogy lecture on the Puffers in MA and that is how I learned of her. When I visited her (Freedom Acres, NH) she showed me her copy of the Puffer Genealogy book by Charles Nutt. She allowed me to take it home and use it. I had it re-stitched and rebound as a thank you for letting me use it. Some 10 (1988) years after returning it a friend of hers called me and asked if I wanted the book. I paid $50 plus shipping. That's how I came across an original copy of the book. DMC
