She was orphaned by age 9. She then went to live with, and was raised by, her grandparents, Jesse and Hattie Puffer who lived on Victoria Ave. and Mary Street in Riverside, CA. Her aunt was Blanche Puffer, to whom my Mom was very close. Blanche had a daughter, Dorothy, who Mom was raised with. They all ended up living in Castle Reagh Place homes in Riverside, CA (Hattie Adell (Kennedy) Puffer too) after Jesse Puffer's death.
