    • He was educated at Lowville Academy. He was a fine mechanic, manufacturer of gloves mittens for a long time, and was a dealer in musical instruments, sewing machines, etc. His wife states that at the time of her marriage her husband's family lived in the town of Pinckney, NY. Repeated requests for information as to the parentage of Hiram Puffer were unanswered by other members of the family. None of Chauncey Hiram Puffer 's brothers or sisters are now living. All three children were members of the Christian Science Church.
