- CT After graduating from the public schools, she was for three years a member of a reading club for college work. She has lived the past few years at 16 Rosette St., New Haven, CT. She has been active in church and various charitable and reform organizations. She is an international organizer of the Sunshine Society and president of the New haven branch, the Cynthia Westover Alden branch since 1901. For one year she was first vice-president of the International Sunshine Society of CT and for ten years president of the CT division. She has been a director of the Associated Charities of New Haven for ten years. She is a member of the Social Workers, the W.C.T.U. and V.I.S. and the World's Peace Army. She joined the church in 1869; was teacher in the Sunday school fifteen years; superintendent of the junior department ten years; president of the Mission Circle for six years; member of the Prudential Committee seven years; member of the Ladies Aid and Centenary Associations for more than 25 years, taking a prominent part in local, state and national conventions. She was for ten years a member of the Woman's Auxillary of the Y.M.C.A.; for five years president of the Traveler's Aid Society; charter member of the Political Equality Club. She studied music for nearly four years at the Conservatory of Music, Springfield, MA.
She is the author of a book describing ten years of work in the Connecticut Sunshiners. She has been a regular correspondent for a New Haven newspaper for 12 years. In 24 years she has traveled 70,000 miles and written entertaining letters describing her journeys.
