    • Among the pioneers leaving Nauvoo, IL to cross the plains and settle in Salt Lake Valley. He was a scout, Indian fighter and pony express rider in the west. He married the oldest daughter of Brigham Young, Vilate. He crossed the plains 53 times helping immigration wagon trains to come west. He was a personal friend of Kit Carson and many other early western celebrities.
