MRS. SAMUEL (SALLY B. BELDEN) PUFFER
      APRIL 10, 1894
Mrs. Samuel S. Puffer died after a lingering illness at the family home in this city on Friday evening, April 6, 1894, aged 75 years, 5 months and 27 days. Deceased, whose maiden name was Sally B. Belden, was born at Westflefd, Massachusetts, Oct. 9, 1818, She grew to womanhood in her native state and was married to Samuel S. Puffer at Sunderland, May 29, 1836. Mr. and Mrs. Puffer continued to live In Massachusetts for ten years after marriage, when they came to this state, settling In Putnam county. Their residence in Putnam county continued for about eighteen years when, with their family, they moved to their farm in this county and township, residing for many years in the old farm house southeast of this city, since and now occupied by Saml. Puffer, Jr. The union of Mr. and Mrs. Puffer was blessed with the birth of six children, five, sons and one daughter. Three sons—Daniel, James and Samuel—still survive and all are substantial farmers of this township. The funeral services were held from the Baptist church, Rev. Howland officiating, at two o'clock Sunday last, the attendance being fat above the capacity of the church, all of whom had come to pay their last tribute of respect to one of whom truthfully be said, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
