- Mr Gill is the originator of the school republic idea of teaching citizenship and has been instrumental in having the system put into successful operation in public schools in Boston, NYC, Los Angeles and many other cities in this country, in Alaska, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Japan and other foreign countries. When General Wood was governor of Cuba, Mr. Gill introduced this system of education in the Cuban schools. His services have been recognized throughout the educational world and he as been awarded a gold medal by the Franklin Institute. He is the author of "A New Citizenship". For the past dozen years his home has been in Philadelphia.
