  • Notes
    • She is known today as Brunhilde who shows up in Norse mythology and "the fat lady" who sings arias in opera. Brunhilde's sister (name unknown) was married to her husband's brother, Chilperic. But she was murdered when Chilperic's mistress, Fredegund, convinced him to do so and make her queen. A great rivalry between Brunhilde and Fredegund was started over this. Brunhilde is blamed for having many of the Merovingian kings murdered.
