She is listed with her sister-in-law, Margaret Jane Puffer (wife-to-be of George Waffle, Jr.), and a Richard T. Root (who is listed as a "Bastard". This is not Richard Timothy Root Puffer as the dates don't match) in Kitley, Leeds, Ontario, Canada, in 1861. It is likely that this Richard T. Root is an out-of-wedlock child of Louisa Cordelia Root or one of her sisters.

He went to Canada when young. He was a physician and farmer, faithful worker in the Methodist Church, "one of God's best men."

He moved to Canada when 21 years old. He had studied medicine, but gave up the profession on account of ill health. For about nine years he had a farm near Smith's Falls, Ontario; then bought a 640 acre farm near Westport, Ontario where he followed farming for 21 years. Finally he settled in Minden, Ontario. He was a Methodist in religion and Conservative in politics. He was always known as Dr. Puffer and acquired a reputation for setting broken limbs, etc.

Update: 1/13/2023.. taking another look at this family, the 1830 Federal Census in Watson, NY shows 11 people total in the Asa Puffer family who lives there. This fits the total # of people in the family but not the dates. For instance the Census record shows the oldest male (father) is 40-49. This Asa would be 62-63 years old. His wife, Eliza, would be 29-30 and she fits (just barely). Most sons and daughters don't fit either. More research..
