    Notes:

    Died at "Chimney Rock" while crossing the plains with her family to Uta h. Sarah was enroute to the Utah Territory with her husband, Jasper and th eir son. They were in the Heber C. Kimball Company of LDS pioneers head ing for the Salt Lake Valley. She died of "consumption" at 2 A.M. the morning of July 14th along what i s now known as the Mormon Trail. This particular area was 21 miles west o f Chimney Rock, Nebraska. U. S. Highway 26, running due west from Broad water, Morrill County, Nebraska now virtually runs alongside the route a t this point. At a location approximately Latitude 41.584 degrees North and Longitude - 102.7776 degrees West, Sarah was buried that morning "at the foot of th e cliffs of Ancient Bluff Ruins" which is about 4.4 miles from Broadwat er.

    Sarah married TWITCHELL, Jasper on 8 Dec 1841 in Macomb, IL. Jasper (son of TWITCHELL, Joshua Jr. and KNIGHT, Eunice Ursula) was born on 28 Oct 1820 in Rutland, OH; died on 26 Oct 1894 in San Juan Bautista, CA; was buried in San Juan Bautista, CA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
