    • After arriving in Boston in 1629, he went to Wethers, CT, then settled i n Stratford in 1646. The oldest existing land records there were recor ded by him, as were also the vital records and town acts. He also draf ted the charter of the town. he was town clerk or recorder for 16 year s, town treasurer, on committees to survey land and purchase land from t he Indians, deputy to the General Assembly of CT 29 sessions, a nd commissioner for 8 years.
