  Educated in the public schools of Natick and at the Bryant & Stratton Commercial School, Boston. He started in the shoe manufacturing business in the firm of Nutt, Brennan and Co., in the Riley Pebbles shop; afterward was senior partner in Nutt & Pratt, shoe manufacturers, in the old Wilson shop; in 1901 he sold out to his partner, J B Pratt. In the following year he started in business again in the Riley Pebbles shop, under the firm name of W.H. Nutt Co. Since 1908 he has been connected with various shoe firms in Westborogh, Everett, Chelsea and Rowley, MA. He resided in Ipswich.
