Notes - He moved from Franklin to Berlin when he was eight years old, thence to Belchertown and finally became a farmer in So. Amherst. For fifty years he was in the grain business and had a grist mill at North Amherst. He owned Pequot Water which had exclusive water rights to the Springfield, MA area, as well as Puffer Construction in Amherst, MA. Puffer Construction managed the Puffton Village apartment complex there. He was a highly respected citizen.
