She didn't find out until 2 years later of this marriage. The marriage ceremony of Susan Beasley to Richard Puffer is established by recorded evidence, and no competent evidence has been secured to show that Richard Puffer did not have the legal capacity to contract in this marriage.
No divorce of Susan Beasley and Richard Puffer has been discovered in any records. A Richard Puffer was granted land in Dubuque, IA on 10 Nov 1859 and in Cass County, NE on 6 Dec 1860.
