Notes:
Sometime before 1900 Ivan's father died and his mother remarried in 1901 to William M. Cozard. Tragedy struck again for the Matthews children on August 25, 1904 their mother passed away. The children were than raised by their Grandmother Mary Chitwood and their Uncle Edwin in Jasper County, Missouri.
